Accessible computers equipped with assistive hardware and software are located in the Educational Resource Center (ERC) at each site campus. Students with disabilities can effectively interact with the computer and in the classroom setting using the Assistive Technology (AT) tools below.
To illustrate, a person with low-vision can hear ZoomText read magnified screen text;
a mobility impaired user can utilize an Intellikeys touch-pad keyboard, a trackball, and Dragon NaturallySpeaking
voice-input software to issue commands and enter text; a learning disabled student may benefit from TextHelp! word
prediction software; and a blind student can scan a textbook and hear the words read aloud with Openbook, and surf
the net with JAWS screen-reader. A Braille embosser is available to print Braille documents from computer files.
