Events

In order to develop the reputation of the Media Technologies program with community media outlets (newspapers, television, radio, and advertising agencies) and to meet employment needs expressed by several local media producers, we are increasing awareness of the Media Technologies program as a premier educational resource.

We have begun sponsoring several events each year for both college constituents and the public including; speakers, student showcases in public venues, and workshops featuring well-known professionals.

2006, MediaWorks Events included:

• Photographer Jay Dickman reception and presentation for the public
• The annual Communication Graphics / Media Technologies showcase of student work/reception
• Student showcase at the City County Building, Knoxville, TN
• Student showcase at the Emporium, downtown Knoxville, TN

2007, MediaWorks Events will include:

• Student showcase at the Art Market, March 2nd - 10th. Opening is a "First Friday" event, March 2nd
• Jay Dickman Photography Workshop with Jay Kinghorn, Kurt Mutchler and KD Lawson, May 14 - 19
• TBA, media production professional lecture series, Fall 2007
• The annual Communication Graphics / Media Technologies showcase of student work/reception
