Access and Diversity

Access and diversity are not just buzzwords at Pellissippi State. Everyone deserves full access to higher education. Diversity celebrates our unique individuality but also affirms that our similarities are greater than our differences. At Pellissippi State, we are devoted to having an open and welcoming campus community.

Access and Diversity encourages students — especially students who are first-generation, low-income, adult or underrepresented minorities — through services that help them to see their college journey through to graduation. Support services, including mentoring, weekly networking mixers and even family movie nights, inspire students.

And our annual, community-wide Access & Diversity event, the Festival of Cultures, celebrates diversity on our campus and in East Tennessee.

Scholarships & Support Services

Access and Diversity oversees scholarships and support services that make education attainable for everyone. Apply for scholarships through our Financial Aid office.

Programming for Adult Student Support provides academic and career planning, degree completion support, family programming, mentoring, study resources and scholarships to adult learners. Pellissippi Achieves for Adult Learners is a mentoring program for first-time freshmen. Students are assigned to a faculty or staff mentor who will guide them through their first year in college.

To participate in our support services, complete the Programming for Adult Student Support Intake Form or the Pellissippi Achieves for Adult Learners Application in myPellissippi.
