EET Faculty: Ken Swayne

Mr. Swayne received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee.

Mr. Swayne worked in industry for 13 years prior to coming to Pellissippi State Community College.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Tennessee and holds an inactive license in the state of Louisiana.  His industrial experience includes working as an electrical, instrumentation, and control systems engineer for J.M. Huber Corporation, American Cyanamid, Inc., and Thermatrix, Inc.  In addition, he has operated a consulting business to provide Electrical and Automation solutions for commercial and industrial clients for a number of years.  He continues to provide consulting services on a limited basis.

Mr. Swayne joined Pellissippi State in 2001 and has developed and taught a number of courses in the electrical and automation fields.  He enjoys teaching electrical circuits and automation courses.

Mr. Swayne is a professional member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Society of Engineering Education.
