Second Life and PSTCCIslands delivered! Our new Islands, called WindingRiver Campus1 and WindingRiver Campus 2, have been delivered! Spring semester of 2007 will see a lot of development. I'll post a SLurl here when we get landing points set up on the islands. In the meantime, you can use the Map in SL to search for "winding" and find them. Mailing listYou can now easily join our mailing list to receive timely updates. E-mail from this list will be minimal, usually involving only "breaking news." We will depend on the blog to post other information. You can join the list or manage your subscription from the same page. Project nameDevelopment of the SLPSTCC project moves on. For one thing, we have to find a better name for the project. Ideas? Just looking at the acronym and sort of "saying" it out loud, how about naming the project Slipstick? Yes, I know it would lead to jokes about slapstick, but that could be a good thing in terms of awareness. LinksInformation links about Second Life and PSTCC remain here. They also remain linked from the menu. Events calendarWe now have a calendar on which to list events. The location of this calendar could move if I get some local software or Audrey has something I could use. However, we have enough events that are generating that I thought we should go ahead and get a calendar going. You can access it at http://www.localendar.com/public/daking27. When you schedule an event on your own (I fully expect people to start scheduling their own activities addressing their own interests), please and I'll add it to the calendar for you. The calendar will always have a link in the left-hand navigation menu, so if the location changes, that will be the easiest place to get it. Blog postingsWe have also linked from the menu to my blog postings about SLPSTCC. Register with the blog, and you will be able to comment on the postings, and then comment on the comments. This might be the easiest way to have a discussion about something that concerns us, rather than setting up a Discussion Board, but we can do that if we need to as well. TagsI'll be learning how del.icio.us works and tagging posts that way as well, so if you know how to use tags, that will help you keep up with postings. I think this is what you need to know for tags to work. When I put up a post about Second Life at PSTCC, I'll tag it as SLPSTCC. If you then just make yourself a bookmark pointing to "http://del.icio.us/tag/SLPSTCC", you'll be able to quickly keep up with what is going on there. The easy way: follow this link, and when you get there, bookmark it. Below will always appear my latest tags (up to the last 15) that have something to do with Second Life. RSS feedAlso, if you use RSS feed readers, you'll be able to keep up with news that way. Point your reader software to http://feeds.feedburner.com/KingsCorner | |||
