Title III Grant Project

Pellissippi Academic Center for Excellence

A "QEP" is a Quality Enhancement Plan, an important part of the accreditation awarded by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, or SACSCOC, for short. Every college that seeks or renews accreditation through that group must have a plan developed by the college community that will improve some aspect of student learning in a specific and measurable way.

Plans for Pellissippi State Community College’s Title III Grant Project originated as a result of data gathered during the formal reporting phase of the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan, "Strong to the Core." Faculty expressed their interest in, and need for, a more formal, dedicated, cross-discipline effort supporting faculty development. Based on these expressed concerns, a vision for the Pellissippi Center for Academic Excellence, or P.A.C.E. Center, was born.
