Apply for VA Education Benefits


To receive GI Bill benefits at Pellissippi State, click on your benefit program for a checklist of requirements:

Chapter 30 (Montgomery GI Bill-Active Duty)
  1. Complete an online VA Welcome Form by clicking here.
  2. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the MGIB, Chapter 30 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990 through the VONAPP (click here).
  3. Submit a copy of your last DD-214 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs.
  4. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) through the VONAPP and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. You may access the VONAPP by clicking here.
  5. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please access the VA Certification Request Form through the Financial Aid tab in your myPellissippi account.

Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill)

  1. Complete an online VA Welcome Form by clicking here.
  2. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Chapter 33 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990 through the VONAPP (click here).
  3. Submit a copy of your last DD-214 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs.
  4. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) through the VONAPP and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. You may access the VONAPP by clicking here.
  5. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please access the VA Certification Request Form through the Financial Aid tab in your myPellissippi account.

Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill, Transfer of Benefits [TEB])

  1. Complete an online VA Welcome Form by clicking here.
  2. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Chapter 33 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990E through the VONAPP (click here).
  3. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) through the VONAPP and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. You may access the VONAPP by clicking here.
  4. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please access the VA Certification Request Form through the Financial Aid tab in your myPellissippi account.

Chapter 35 (Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance program [DEA])

  1. Complete an online VA Welcome Form by clicking here.
  2. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program (DEA), Chapter 35 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-5490 through the VONAPP (click here).
  3. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-5495 (Change of Institution and/or Program) through the VONAPP and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. You may access the VONAPP by clicking here.
  4. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please access the VA Certification Request Form through the Financial Aid tab in your myPellissippi account.

Chapter 1606 (Montgomery GI Bill-Selected Reserves [MGIB-SR])

  1. Complete an online VA Welcome Form by clicking here.
  2. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the GI Bill Select Reserve, Chapter 1606 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990 through the VONAPP (click here).
  3. Submit a copy of your last DD-214 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. If you have not yet been issued a DD-214, please submit a copy of your N.O.B.E.
  4. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) through the VONAPP and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. You may access the VONAPP by clicking here.
  5. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please access the VA Certification Request Form through the Financial Aid tab in your myPellissippi account.

Chapter 1607 (Reserve Educational Assistance Program [REAP])

  1. Complete an online VA Welcome Form by clicking here.
  2. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP), Chapter 1607 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990 through the VONAPP (click here).
  3. Submit a copy of your last DD-214 to PSCC’s Office of Veterans Affairs. If you have not yet been issued a DD-214, please submit a copy of your N.O.B.E.
  4. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) through the VONAPP and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. Chapter 31 (VA Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment)

  1. Complete a Disclosure of Records Form with the Admissions and Records office (865-694-6568) allowing us to communicate with your VA Voc Rehab counselor.
  2. Request your VA Vocational Rehabilitation counselor email an approval certificate (28-1905) to the Office of Veterans Affairs at veterans@pstcc.edu.
