Restricted Funds
Gifts to restricted funds are targeted to a specific use identified by the donor. For a restricted fund that is endowed, the principal is maintained in perpetuity, and the investment earnings are distributed according to the donor’s wishes. For a restricted fund that is not endowed, both principal and earnings may be distributed, and they are used for the purposes specified by the donor.
A Great Gift To Give To Help Others
Although Pellissippi State offers the best educational bargain around, many students still need some economic assistance. Others deserve assistance because of their academic achievement. Since students are what we are about, scholarships are an important focal point of our fundraising efforts.
Through annual giving or endowments, donors to the Pellissippi State Foundation support on average 255 scholarships to individuals in 14 different scholarship programs each year. Supporters and recipients of foundation scholarships are feted at a reception each fall.
Other Giving Options Available to Donors with Specific Interests
There are numerous other restricted areas of giving in which financial support is needed as well. They include the student emergency loan fund, various equipment funds and campus-specific funds. On occasion, there are special capital campaigns, such as the one for the Magnolia Avenue Campus, which has thus far raised $3.45 million to buy, renovate and equip the newest campus location.
To establish a restricted fund, contact the executive director of the Foundation at (865) 694-6528 or by e-mail at pwilson@pstcc.edu (or see Contact Us).
