Scholarships

A Note to Students

If money is standing in your way of taking a course at Pellissippi State, the Pellissippi State Foundation has scholarships available to help overcome that barrier. Straight A’s are not a requirement for the Foundation’s scholarships. The minimum requirement is usually a 2.5 grade point average (GPA). Some scholarships with other criteria may have either lower or higher GPA requirements. Many scholarships are made possible with the generous support of donors in the community and at the College. Using general guidelines, the donors themselves set the individual criteria of each scholarship.

The Pellissippi State Foundation administers many scholarships for Pellissippi students. The Foundation Office and the Financial Aid Office use a universal scholarship application form (available as a PDF file on the Web site of the Financial Aid Office) to simplify the process. By completing one scholarship application per year, students are considered for every scholarship for which they are eligible. The application includes a form to help applicants obtain a letter of reference.

The published deadline for scholarship applications is published each year, and is generally around March 15. Other related deadlines, such as for completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are earlier.
