Interior Design Technology (A.A.S.)

Do you have a flair for making interior spaces functional and fabulous? Consider Pellissippi State – the only community college in Tennessee offering a degree in Interior Design Technology.  

You’ll learn the fundamentals of design, including hand drafting, sketching, computer-aided design (CAD) drafting and others, giving you the skills you need to develop creative solutions to interior design problems – from concept to finished layout. 

Our program offers a variety of client-based projects for hands-on experience in the real world, and many students have gotten job offers even before graduation. 

If you want to expand your career options even more, Pellissippi State partners with East Tennessee State University’s Interior Architecture program so that you can transfer your credits to pursue a bachelor’s degree. 

About 60% of our graduates enter the workforce after graduation. The other 40% continue to ETSU. 

TYPICAL JOB OPPORTUNITIES:Design assistant, interior decorator, residential consultant, design sales associate, employees for interior design firms, furniture stores, flooring stores, paint and decorating centers, building centers, kitchen and bath design firms, and residential building contractors.
