Students with an F-1 visa are permitted to work on a part-time basis at an on-campus job, while they are enrolled and maintaining their F-1 status. Students can work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session, and can work up to 40 hours per week during official school breaks.

The International Student Coordinator can provide a letter for students to obtain their Social Security Number after employment has been obtained.


Other Options

There are other opportunities to work off-campus, which require pre-approval from the International Student Coordinator and Immigration Services prior to beginning work.
