Tennessee Academic Library Collaborative (TALC) Card

Enrolled Pellissippi State students and currently employed faculty and staff are eligible to apply for a Tennessee Academic Library Colaborative (TALC) Card. This card  is also known as a Tennessee Board of Regents / University of Tennessee (TBR/UT) borrower card. This card permits check-out of circulating materials at participating TBR/UT libraries in accordance with the lending library’s local policies. Borrowers are subject to the rules and regulations of the lending library and are responsible for learning and observing those rules.

Guidelines

  • Cards issued to faculty and staff members will be valid for one academic term and may be renewed as long as the patron remains eligible for this service. Cards must be renewed at the PSTCC library's circulation desk or an ERC service desk. Faculty members teaching only in the distance education program and living more than 30 miles from any PSTCC location may request the card (and future validations) via the library’s distance learning web page. The lending library will not accept a card with an invalid expiration date.

Students enrolled only in the distance education program and living more than 30 miles from any location of the school of origin may request the card (and future validations) via the library’s distance learning web page.The lending library will not accept a card with an invalid expiration date.
  • The borrower must present a valid TALC borrower's card and a photo I.D. when borrowing materials at a participating lending library,. No other form of I.D. will be accepted.
  • Borrowers are responsible for the safe and timely return of materials to the lending library.
  • Borrowers are responsible for all financial obligations incurred at the lending library. Failure to receive notification does not absolve the borrower of library obligations.
  • The lending library reserves the right to cancel the privileges of borrowers who fail to follow the policies of the library.

Distance Education Students and Faculty

Distance education students and faculty who live farther than 30 miles from any school of origin's location can request a TALC borrower card by mail. Follow this link for more information and a form to request a TALC card:
