Curriculum Essentials - provides information on a number of diverse and academic subjects, including pre-school education

ERIC- The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Dept of Education, contains journal and non-journal education literature including more than 100,000 full-text non-journal documents.



Wilson Omnifile - includes databases covering a broad range of subjects and sources including education, biography, science, etc..

Journals and Magazines 
The following journals are available at the Pellissippi library in the Reference area. Many journals now have websites, providing the table of contents and access to selected articles in the current printed journal. Many include additional information and resources in certain subjects.

Education Statistics of the United States. 2nd edition. Lanham, MD. : Bernan Press, 2000. REF LA 201 .E38 2000. Contains school enrollment data, educational attainment statistics, and tabulated education data for states and counties.

Educational Media and Technology Yearbook Littleton, Colo. : Libraries Unlimited, Inc., 2001 . REF LB1028.3 .E37 2001. Summarizes important developments and indicates current sources of information in educational technology and educational media.

The HEP Higher Education Directory Washington, D.C. : Higher Education Publications, 2004. REF L901 .H46 2004Lists accredited institutions of post secondary education. Provides lists of agencies, associations and consortia of higher education. Includes junior and community colleges and technical institutes as well as four-year colleges. Indexes to key administrators and to institutions according to accrediting body.

Digest of Education Statistics Washington, D.C. : U.S. Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare, Education Division, National Center for Education Statistics 2003. REF L11 .D48 2031. Contains a selection of nationwide data from many public and private sources, including many important surveys by the National Center for Education Statistics.

The College Blue Book New York: Macmillan Information, 2005  REF LA226 .C685 2005. A leading directory of American and Canadian colleges. Five volumes containing narrative descriptions of colleges; degrees offered by college and subject; occupational education; scholarships, fellowships and grants; and distance educations programs.

US Department of Education (ED) Home Page (www.ed.gov/) - Links to reports on all aspects of the organization's work, including student aid, legislation, statistics.

National Research and Development Centers (http://www.ed.gov/offices/OERI/ResCtr.html) - The centers address specific topics such as early childhood development and learning, student learning and achievement, cultural and linguistic diversity and second language learning, post secondary improvement, adult learning, and education policy.

Encyclopedia of Education Statistics (http://nces.ed.gov/edstats/) - The Encyclopedia contains electronic editions of The Condition of Education, The Digest of Education Statistics, and Projection of Education Statistics to 2010.
