BioDigest  (OCLC)-Biology Digest provides lengthy abstracts (digests) of scientific articles written in a non-technical style

Knovel Engineering & Scientific Online  http://ezproxy.pstcc.edu:2048/login?url=http://www.knovel.com  Provides full-text of engineering reference books and also contains books on civil, chemical, and mechanical engineering, as well as metallury, biology, and food science.

Access Science - (online) - electronic version of the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology.  Includes science news and related websites concerning life and physical sciences, as well as information on engineering, mathematics, and technology.

Oxford Reference Online - provides searchable access to 100 dictionary and reference titles published by Oxford Press including A Dictionary of Earth Sciences, A Dictionary of Ecology, A Dictionary of Geography,and A Dictionary of Weather.

You may access online databases from off-campus computers by entering your general computer account username and password (used for PSTCC e-mail).

Statistical Record of the Environment. 3rd ed. Charity Anne Dorgan, ed. Detroit: Gale Research Inc., 1995. REF TD 180 .D37 1995 Provides statistical information about the environment drawn from both government and private sources. Environmental statistics are given for major topics that include environmental indicators, land and land use, wildlife and habitat, and so lid waste.

ENVIROFACTS(http://www.epa.gov/enviro/index_java.html) - The Envirofacts Warehouse allows you to retrieve environmental information from EPA databases on Air, Chemicals, Facility Information, Grants/Funding, Hazardous Waste, Risk Management Plans, Superfund, Toxic Releases, and Water Permits, Drinking Water, Drinking Water Contaminant Occurrence, and Drinking Water Microbial and Disinfection Byproduct Information (Information Collection Rule [ICR]).
