Employee annual enrollment and transfer period approaches


Employees will have an opportunity to make changes to their 2009 insurance choices October 15-November 14, says Karen Queener, director of Human Resources and Affirmative Action. The period is not an open enrollment period for medical insurance, she says, but rather an opportunity to do the following:

  • Transfer medical plans.
  • Add, transfer or cancel dental.
  • Add or cancel optional special accident insurance.
  • Apply for, increase or decrease optional term or universal life insurance.
  • Apply for long-term disability.
  • Apply for long-term care.
  • Enroll in the Flexible Benefits Spending Account.
  • Enroll in the Sick Leave Bank.

Human Resources will be sending out details in October.

“When you receive the information, please take the time to review it,” Queener said. “The deadline to make any changes is November 14, and changes cannot be accepted after that date.”
