Singer-songwriter Lea to give two performances at Pellissippi State
Washington, D.C.–based singer-songwriter Lea is coming to two of the campuses in October.
Lea has attracted national attention with her blend of urban folk, rock, jazz and blues. She was nominated “Best Female Vocalist” and “Best New Artist” by the Washington Area Musician’s Association.
She also has garnered praise from Garth Ross, program coordinator for the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage: “Lea’s music goes beyond folk, to the soulful frankness of blues and melodic complexity of modern jazz.”
Beyond the U.S., the recording artist has performed in England and throughout most of Europe, including appearing with a jazz ensemble and a British pop trio in Germany.
Lea will take center stage at 6:30 p.m. October 2 in the Community Room of the Magnolia Avenue Campus and at noon the 3rd in the Student Lounge of the Division Street Campus. Her appearances are sponsored by the Access and Diversity Office.
Both events are free and open to the public.
