Trio San Rafael perform for Hispanic-Latino Month
Trio San Rafael is bringing its Latino—rock sound to Pellissippi State, and the public is invited to share in the entertainment. The Nashville—based group will kick off the school year and help the College celebrate National Hispanic—Latino Month at the same time. Trio San Rafael will perform two concerts September 18.
The event is sponsored by the Access and Diversity Office, which is bringing a yearlong series of performances and learning experiences to campus.
The group will entertain at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. in the Goins Auditorium.
Rafael Vasquez, leader of both the San Rafael Band and Trio San Rafael, is a talented songwriter, vocalist and guitarist who is comfortable with a variety of styles—everything from bajo sexto and classical to blues and rock.
In the last few years Vasquez has begun to share his knowledge of music and Hispanic culture with students in the Metro Nashville Public Schools system and at Belmont University.
