Something no one knows about you: I finally learned to tie my shoes correctly when I was 32.
Greatest achievement or proudest moment: Earning my degree from Pellissippi State in 2000. It was more important to me than completing my B.S. or M.A. degrees. In pursuing my associate’s degree, I faced numerous challenges and obstacles, which I conquered through family, friends and faculty members (Roger Crowe and Bill Hamlin), who believed in me, when I didn’t.

Favorite things outside work: I enjoy reading, being with my family or doing any activity where I can be outdoors.
Most rewarding part of your job: Working with an amazing group of people.
Most influential person in your life and why: My mother, who passed away with breast cancer. She was a true humanitarian, always seeing the good in people, when no one else could, and never too busy to help anyone, at anytime. She was a person who was strong, intelligent, humble, never compromised her values and principles, and loved her family beyond measure.
Favorite quote: “For I am the LORD your God, who holds your right hand, and says don’t be afraid, I will help you.”—Isaiah 41:13
