Pellissippi State book sale raises scholarship funds
The annual Faculty Senate Book Sale, hosted at all four campus locations of Pellissippi State, raised $6,000. Funds go to the Pellissippi State Foundation to benefit student scholarships.
Faced with a challenging economy and some rain-soaked sale days, event organizer Trish Roller never lost sight of the goal of helping students. Calling the event “wonderfully profitable,” Roller said that the success is due to the tremendous support she received from Pellissippi State faculty, staff and students.
Roller wishes to recognize the following:
“Sharon Reedy for guidance to a successful book sale; Bookie Reynolds and her artful advertising; Juli Neil’s excellent PR, including press releases and campus advertisements; Jane Cameron for collecting and managing money; Janet Hardin and all of the department secretaries, who skillfully coordinated collecting and storing book donations; Ben McDaniel and all of the maintenance staff, who patiently and cheerfully collected and stored the books; the many students who helped with sorting, setting up and taking down the thousands of books that made up this year’s sale; and generous faculty and staff members who volunteered to work the sale.”
Said Roller, “These are the people without whom the book sale would not have taken place.”
