Pellissippi State hosts ceremony honoring employees

Pellissippi State hosted its annual ceremony recognizing employees for outstanding service, longevity and retirement on April 23. The event took place in the Clayton Performing Arts Center. This year’s theme was “The People’s Choice Awards.”

Faculty and staff entered the CPAC by walking down the red carpet, and some were stopped and interviewed by “Joan Rivers” and her daughter, “Melissa” (Pat Myers and Brooke Wilson of the Pellissippi State Foundation). Audrey Williams, director of Educational Technology Services, served as ceremony host.

Each of the College’s four sites and the Small Business Development Center participated in the ceremony.

Pellissippi State recognized employees at five-year increments of service, retiring employees and council presidents, then the Outstanding Employee Awards were presented. Award winners received a plaque, medallion and check, and retirees received a clock.

Funding for all awards was provided by the Pellissippi State Foundation, and the Foundation Board of Trustees Awards Committee interviewed and selected the winner of the three most prestigious awards: Excellence in Teaching, Innovations and Gene Joyce Visionary.
