Pellissippi State director named VP of state PR group

Julia Wood, director of Marketing and Communications at Pellissippi State, was elected vice president of the Tennessee College Public Relations Association at the group’s spring conference in Clarksville on May 14.

Wood came to Pellissippi State from the University of Memphis in 1994 and has been a member of TCPRA since 1984. She also serves on the board of the local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, the world’s largest organization of public relations professionals.

TCPRA is an alliance of communicators representing public and private colleges, universities, two-year technical schools, technology centers and community colleges throughout Tennessee. Formed in 1975, TCPRA provides professional development programs that strengthen members’ leadership in their institutions and their communities.

Wood will serve a four-year term: two years as vice president, followed by two years as president.
