Cain, a Walden employee who serves as a security officer for the college, was named Walden's Officer of the Year and received a $1,000 award.
Bory Cain's performance as a security officer at Pellissippi State has earned him Officer of the Year 2010 for Walden Security, the company that provides security services to the College. A reception was hosted in his honor on February 22.
Cain, who spent 28 years in the printing business, moved to Knoxville five years ago from South Florida. After joining Walden Security a year ago, he began his assignment at Pellissippi State in July 2010. He works primarily at the Blount County and Pellissippi campuses.
Cain says he has enjoyed getting to know the students, faculty and staff at Pellissippi State.
"This is such a great work atmosphere," he said. "Everyone is really friendly and welcoming. I like getting to know the students and seeing the staff every day."
Headquartered in Chattanooga, with an office in Knoxville, Walden Security provides contract security services to more than 350 commercial and government clients. Representatives from Pellissippi State and Walden Security were on hand to honor Cain, as were fellow security officers.
