Director of Pellissippi State's Small Business Development Center named 'State Star'

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE— October 3, 2008

Larry Rossini, director the Knoxville area Small Business Development Center, which is administered locally by Pellissippi State Technical Community College, has been selected as the 2008 State Star of the Tennessee SBDC.

"I am pleased to make this announcement, and to recognize Mr. Rossini for extraordinary contributions to the work of the TSBDC and small business in Tennessee," said Patrick Geho, TSBDC executive director.

Rossini was chosen for being an exemplary performer, making a significant contribution to the TSBDC program and showing a strong commitment to small business in the Knoxville area.

Earlier this year, the Knoxville center was awarded the 2008 Service Excellence and Innovation Award by the U.S. Small Business Administration's Tennessee district office in Nashville for providing training and counseling via the internet.

The TSBDC provides counseling and training to small—business owners and managers and those interested in starting a small business. The services are handled by small—business specialists and are free, individualized and confidential. TSBDC also offers live and recorded workshops, seminars and classes on a variety of business and management topics.
