Title: Vice President of Business and Finance

 

Reporting Supervisor: President of the College

 

Job Objectives:

To be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and managing the financial services and the physical facilities functions of the College. To direct and coordinate activities of Business Services, Budget and Payroll, Facilities, and Safety and Security. To assist the President in formulating and administering the budget and business functions of the College.

 

Essential Job Functions:

60% Provide managerial oversight, leadership and coordination of the business functions of the College.

Coordinate and manage the following College functions: Investment of College funds, College contracts, Payroll,  Business Services, budgets, and financial statements,  

30% Provide managerial oversight, leadership and coordination of the physical facilities and safety and security of the College.

Coordinate and manage the College’s physical facilities, including the Physical Plant Department, Grounds, Motor Pool, Mail Services, Capital Building Projects, and Safety and Security.

10% Assist the President and other staff regarding divisional issues; development and implementation of the College’s goals, polices, and guidelines; TBR policies; and applicable laws and regulations dealing with the Business & Finance Division.

 

Non-essential Job Functions:

Perform other duties as assigned by the President.

 

Job Standards:

A. Bachelor’s Degree in related field from a regionally accredited institution.
B. Five years of senior level management and administrative experience in a comparable setting.

C. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.

D. Proficiency in oral and written expression.

E. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in budget development and financial management.

 

Critical Skills/Expertise/Experience

A broad understanding of general business and management practices; interpersonal and human relations skills; verbal and written communication skills, planning and management skills to perform successfully the planning, directing, reporting, and administrative responsibilities of this position.

 

Job Location:

The primary job location is the College’s Pellissippi Parkway campus in Knoxville, Tennessee. Travel within the College’s two-county service area and to the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) office in Nashville, as well as to other TBR and vendor sites will be required.

 

Equipment:

Work activities will involve direct use of a networked personal computer, along with the use of standard word processing and spreadsheet software, printer, copier, adding machine, and telephone and other office equipment.
