CURRICULUM CONTENT AND SEQUENCE
I.
Each program of study (career/transfer) leading to an associate’s
degree will establish curriculum content and sequence containing the following
elements:
A. Program Goals--General
statements of desired learner outcomes as a product of instruction. General Education Outcomes
are the program goals of the university parallel/college transfer program.
B. Course
Objectives--Statements that are broad in scope describing the level of
achievement to be demonstrated by students in terms of knowledge gained, skills
mastered, and attitudes or values developed.
(Course objectives are directly related to program goals).
C.
Instructional Processes--A description of the instructional activities
that provide the means through which students will achieve the stated
objectives of the course. (Each process
is referenced to a General Education Outcome, a transitional strategy, or an
active learning strategy.)
D. Expectations for Student Performance--A
detailed list of specific performance expectations that includes the specific
skills, tasks, knowledge, and attitudes or values the student will attain or be
able to do upon completion of the course.
(Expectations for student performance are directly related to course
objectives.)
II. Each department or program
of study will establish an assessment plan that includes an annual review of
measures of program goal achievement and other indicators of effectiveness in
support of College goals.
