DEGREE ATTAINMENT
When an employee
earns a degree the supervisor must submit a Personnel
Action Form (PAF) to the Human Resources office. In addition, a Transcript Request Form must
be completed and sent to the accrediting institution. Once the official
transcript has been received in Human Resources, the PAF will be forwarded to
the President for approval. The completed PAF insures proper degree recognition
for salary and record keeping requirements.
Employees who are
receiving a degree from a regionally accredited institution may be eligible,
unless otherwise stated in the employment letter or other documents, for a
salary adjustment of 5% up to a maximum of $1,000. Employees receiving a degree
in order to meet the minimum position requirements are not eligible for the
salary adjustment. Employees who are receiving a second degree of the same
designation, e.g. second Associate degree, are not eligible for the salary
adjustment. If a salary adjustment is approved by the President, the salary
adjustment will become effective on the following dates: degree earned in Spring (June 1), degree earned in Summer (September 1),
degree earned in Fall (January 1). Late notification will delay processing of
salary adjustment.
