The HTML Editor in the D2L system allows you to create HTML content from within D2L, and it is available in most areas of D2L that require you to input text. You can use it to create course content, post discussion messages, create articles, and many other tasks.

The HTML Editor will load in the page in any location where it is available to you and/or your students.

SAFARI USERS: You will still be using the older HTML editor rather than the one pictured below. The functionality is very similar but it does look different.

HTML Editor Tabs

The HTML Editor has two tabs:

Basic- The Basic tab of the HTML Editor allows you to easily create and format content, without any knowledge of HTML. Simply type your content and use the available icons to apply formatting to your text, insert images and tables, and create links. On the Basic tab, you can format text with Bold, Italics, Underline as well as align text (left, center, right, justified) and create bullet and numbered lists.

Along the bottom are icons to view the HTML source, preview the page and edit in full screen mode.
