Top Ten Changes/Improvements in D2L 8.3

 

  1. Course Updates in the My Courses Widget - The My Courses widget on the homepage (where you see the list of courses in your account) now shows updates for unread discussion messages and ungraded quiz attempts/dropbox submissions

  2. Gradeable Discussions - You can now create discussion topics with assessment added so you can enter a grade in the Discussion tool that is then sent to a grade item (column) in the Grades tool.

  3. Collapsible Content Modules and Grade Categories - This version allows you to collapse and expand the content modules and categories in the Grades tool to reduce the amount of scrolling needed in each tool.

  4. More Calendar Integration - You can now add events to the calendar from the Dropbox, Checklist, Quizzes, Discussions, Content, Grades and Survey tools.

  5. Group Email - You can select multiple students for sending group email

  6. Tab Management - You can choose which tab displays by default on the Classlist page or have only one tab with everybody (all roles) on it.

  7. Improved Statistics - There is now a Users tab in the Content statistics so you can see, by student, which modules and topics have been visited.

  8. Spreadsheet view in Grades - You can now enter grades using a single page and keyboard commands (like tab) to make it faster for data entry.

  9. Improved Discussion tool - You can now move and copy messages between topics, allow for peer ratings, set date AND time restrictions and lock topics to keep them available to read only.

  10. Brand new HTML editor - the HTML editor is new and is integrated into the pages rather than opening in a new window.
