Meet Niki Adams, our new Phi Theta Kappa President. Niki used to be our VP of Hallmarks and recently took over the presidency when Shana Hair stepped down due to conflicts of time. Niki is an elementary education major and plans to attend Tennessee Tech and graduate in 2009. Her goal is to teach grades K-6. She is twenty years old, and lives at home at present.
She is on the boards of the Knoxville Youth Summit and Sister to Sister. These are great service committees that serve middle school kids and high schoolers. Knoxville Youth Summit is for both high school girls and boys and middle-schoolers. The Sister to Sister is for middle school and high school girls. The groups mentor young children and high schoolers and help them with issues that concern them and the community.
Niki is a strong Christian and plans to marry on May 23, 2009 to David Dyer. Some of her interests are Christian music and ballet. She sites her favorite restaurant as Bravos, an Italian eatery in Bearden. Favorite movies include, "Notebook" and "A Walk to Remember", along with "Pay it Forward". Some of her hobbies are snowboarding, hiking and camping.
Niki is a strong leader for PTK and has headed up several events and she is one of the few that always volunteers and you usually see her at most events helping in any way she can. She is an asset to PTK and will help take our chapter to great places.
