Provide necessary assistance and supports for the person served in order to meet their personal care needs and to facilitate their participation in community life.  

Duties include: during the week, come to the Cerebral Palsy Center, 241 E Woodland Ave, Knox, TN 37917, use an agency van to take individual into the community, then return to individuals home off Pleasant Ridge Rd.  On Saturday, come to Center, pick up van, pick up individual, community time, then return individual to his home and van to Center.

Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church located in Karns is searching for a candidate to fill our position of Nursery Coordinator.  This position will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

  • Providing age appropriate lessons and activities for the children in-line with the United Methodist faith.
  • Prepare small snacks for the children which will be provided by the church.
  • Ensure children are properly supervised and cared for.  This includes changing diapers as needed.

LAB TECHNICIAN – Performs the daily analysis of client samples in the laboratory. The Technical Director approves the operating procedures that they perform. They also serve the company in the capacity of analytical data reporting.  These staff members shall have at least a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED), preferably with an Associate’s degree. During the required training period (1 year), the trainee shall perform work (and have work reviewed prior to release) under the direct supervision of a qualified technician, analyst and/or the Lab Manager.

Technicians may function in the same manner as analysts for direct examination (spore trap) analysis after completion of six (6) months documented on the job training and demonstrated proficiency. For all other analyses (i.e., Water Testing), technicians may function in the same manner as analysts after one (1) year documented on the job training and demonstrated proficiency.

The Office of Science / US Department of Energy is pleased to announce paid research internship opportunities for undergraduate students majoring in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for the Summer of 2020. The application system for the 2020 Summer Term Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program is currently open, with all applications due by 05:00 PM Eastern Time on January 09, 2020.

The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program places students from 2 and 4 year undergraduate institutions as paid interns in science and engineering research activities at DOE national laboratories and facilities. Selected students participate as interns appointed at one of 17 participating DOE laboratories. They perform research, under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers, on projects supporting the DOE mission.

Appointments are for 10 weeks during the Summer term, are open to US Citizens and US Lawful Permanent Residents, include a weekly stipend, reimbursement for one round trip domestic travel to the participant’s host DOE laboratory, and possibilities for a housing allowance. More than 850 internships are sponsored annually.

Eligibility for the SULI program requires that all applicants:

  1. Must be currently enrolled full-time or have recently graduated with an undergraduate degree, as described in the two cases below.
    • The applicant must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited institution (including accredited community colleges) and also have completed at least one year as a matriculated undergraduate student at the time of applying.  Freshmen are not eligible, and Advanced Placement credits or other undergraduate credits obtained prior to undergraduate enrollment cannot be applied to meet the minimum one-year completion requirement. 
    • Applicants who have completed or will complete their undergraduate degree prior to starting their internship may apply as a "Recent Graduate."  This includes students who have graduated with an associate's degree or bachelor's degree, those who have completed a combined BS/MS program, and those who have completed an undergraduate degree and are now enrolled in a graduate studies program.
