Electrical Engineering: Prepare detailed engineering designs for distribution, transmission and fiber communication systems using computer aided design and system modeling tools. Oversee projects through the construction and closeout process while maintaining all project documentation. Coordinate with other KUB departments and contractors to meet design and construction deadlines. Works closely with Operations staff and/or external Customers primarily in support of operations and project activity. Perform calculations to ensure adequate design. Develop and use KUB design, material and equipment specifications and assist with long range capital improvement project planning and budgeting. Research and advance new technologies such as distribution automation to enhance the electric system performance. Natural Gas Engineering: This position works with a team of engineers, project coordinators, and inspectors responsible for the overall planning, oversight, and management of KUB natural gas assets including distribution mains and services, gate and regulator stations, large meter sets, and repairs. This position consists of designing pipeline projects; preparing and reviewing construction plans, bid documents, and cost estimates; managing all phases of capital improvements and maintenance programs; coordinating work with construction crews, customers, permitting agencies, contractors, and KUB departments. Water Systems Engineering: Researches and designs utility system facilities using assessment of existing facilities, complex computations, problem solving skills, computer aided drafting, and computer systems, including system modeling and analysis.  Provides design services, including development of technical specifications, cost estimates, and permitting, for all types of water and wastewater projects, such as water distribution, wastewater collection, trunklines, pump stations, force mains, and various utility relocations due to roadway or streetscape projects.  Furnishes technical assistance to other departments, contractors, and customers relative to wastewater and water systems.  Makes recommendations on methods of system improvements, developing engineering and labor costs, equipment and material costs, and analyzing system design to support recommendations.  Performs project management duties for consulting and construction contracts.  Prepares cost estimates of major construction and maintenance projects. This role must have a firm understanding and ability to incorporate the fundamentals of design for Civil Engineering projects including City/county/municipality/,TDOT road & trail projects and the associated activities such as: grading, drainage, stormwater management, pavement design, erosion and sediment control along with normal road & utility construction.

DUTIES

Instructors/Graders (Part-Time)

KUMON of FARRAGUT is looking for part-time instructors/graders!

Kumon is an afterschool program for ages 4 and up, which helps students master their reading and/or math skills. The young KUMON students do daily worksheets and come into the center once or twice a week, where worksheets are graded by our staff. Work consists mostly of grading worksheets; requires focus and consistency.

Attention to detail is required, along with being able to read well and understand basic math in order to focus and grade student work without errors. This work also requires being able to sit for most of the time at work, and to work quietly.

Work hours are Mondays and Thursdays after school (as soon as a high school student could get to our center, until about 7:30) and sometimes occasional other afternoons when grading demand is highNo weekend work (normally). Most workers could get about 8-12 hours per week (year-round).
