MALIBU BOATS --Powertrain Validation Engineer – New Product Engineering Department  --- This position will plan and schedule validation projects for any portion of the vessel powertrain system.  Support the validation process by developing test plans, performing necessary tasks to carry out the test plans and maintain documentation in accordance with Malibu project requirements.  This position will support Malibu Powertrain Product Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Establish validation standards and develop testing protocols for all areas of powertrain development
  • Document test results, maintain records for later analysis and coordinate communication with other personnel or teams that will be effected by the testing results.
  • Compose reports and present results to include conclusions with recommendations.
  • Prepare equipment, tools, components and vessels for validation testing. 
  • Determine adjustments to equipment or processes that require improvement. Perform preventative maintenance to equipment or boats and oversee the inventory of validation supplies and equipment. 
  • Works Daily to solve complex problems and determine best path, with a strong grasp of root cause analysis
  • Works daily with multi-discipline teams to coordinate the development and implementation of new products
  • Regularly investigates system/product weaknesses to continuously improve and prevent further issues
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience: BSME or related Technical degree preferred; Boat operation experience required; Experience in common hand tools required; Basic understanding of powertrain components installation required; Basic understanding of engine diagnostic equipment such as DIACOM preferred; Experience in 3D solid modeling, SolidWorks preferred

Other Qualifications  Must be willing to travel to offsite testing location for extended periods of time, such as Florida or Michigan.
