Possess sufficient technical knowledge and experience in the electrical engineering and construction disciplines to effectively interpret and enforce the NEC. Assists with the development and implementation of electrical safety programs and procedures in an attempt to eliminate personnel injury and/or property damage due to fire, explosion, arc blast, and electrical shock. Where specific rules are not established in the code, review and approve alternate methods when assured that objectives can be achieved by establishing and maintaining effective safety equal to, or exceeding, established codes, regulations and standards. Manage the development and documentation of equivalencies and exemptions to NFPA codes 70 and 70E; and OSHA electrical requirements at the site for electrical equipment issues, in accordance with 10CFR851, Worker Safety and Health Program. Serve as an advisor to ES&H, facility managers, project managers and engineering for NFPA electrical code related issues. As a member of the Electrical Incident Investigation Team, assists with investigations of accidents/incidents involving electrical systems or equipment.
