Teaching Full CIRCLE: Creating Inclusive and Responsive Classrooms for Learning Equity

PSCC 2021-2026 QEP FAQ

What is a QEP?

The QEP, or Quality Enhancement Plan, is a key part of the decennial reaffirmation process as established by SACSCOC, our regional accreditation body. It is an exciting opportunity for the College to come together, collectively decide how we want to improve student learning or student success, design a plan for achieving this goal, and dedicate five full years to implementing this plan and working toward our goals.

What is the name of our new QEP?

The full title of PSCC’s 2021-2026 QEP is Teaching Full CIRCLE: Creating Inclusive and Responsive Classrooms for Learning Equity, but you can call it Teaching Full Circle for short. Remembering the full title, though, may qualify you for QEP swag at promotional events!

What is the goal of Teaching Full Circle?

The goal of Teaching Full Circle is to narrow existing equity gaps in course success for non-college-ready students, African American students, and Pell Grant-eligible students, with the overall goal of improving the success of all students at PSCC.

What is the plan for achieving this goal?

In short, the plan is in the acronym: to create inclusive and responsive classrooms for learning equity (CIRCLE). Our QEP will provide faculty the opportunity to participate in a two-semester, small cohort-based, professional development program also called – you guessed it – Teaching Full Circle.

What are inclusive and responsive classrooms?

The Teaching Full Circle program will focus on responsive teaching strategies. These practices will help instructors recognize and respond to the academic needs of all students with the goals of increased engagement,
learning, and success.
