Math Centers
The Math Center is a computer lab designated for use by our DSPM 0890 students. All campuses house a Math Center with anywhere from 24 computers on one of the site campuses to 82 computers at our Pellissippi Parkway campus. Students are required to spend at least 2 hours of time in the Math Center working on their assignments, but many spend more time than what is required. Students' attendance is recorded by scanning a picture ID when they log in and when they log out of the Math Center. Each Math Center is staffed with trained tutors during all hours of the day who assist students with assignments and reviews they complete in order to prepare them for testing.

Violators will be charged with academic misconduct and reported to the dean's office. No attendance credit will be given to students who do not have their ID cards.
- Cell phones and companions are NOT allowed in the Center. A cell phone violation will cause your cell phone to be detained until you leave the MATH CENTER. Your cell phone needs to be out of sight and turned off.
- No food or drink is allowed in the Math Center. Please be sure your hands are clean before entering the Math Center.
- Other than mathematics, no activities such as talking, surfing the Internet, playing computer games, typing a paper, sleeping, etc. is allowed in the MATH CENTER. Any violation will count as an absence for that day and you will be asked to leave the MATH CENTER.
- The use of a computer in the MATH CENTER outside of class time is on a first —come first —serve basis; no reservation can be made.
- Please do not touch the monitor screens as they can be damaged very easily.
- When you leave, monitors should be pushed back toward the center of the pod. Keypads should remain on the table, but not near the edge of the table.
- If your computer is not working properly, please alert an instructor or tutor and then move to another computer. Do not try to shut down the computer and fix the problem yourself.
- Please try to keep your personal belongings away from any cords or cables that you may see around your pod as they may be damaged.
- You may print items related to you mathematics course work. No other printing is allowed. If the printer is not functioning properly, please ask for assistance from an instructor or tutor. Do not try to fix the equipment yourself.
- The Math Center is equipped with various supplies that you may need throughout the semester. Please ask an instructor or a tutor for assistance if you wish to borrow supplies. Please do not get them yourself. We will ask to hold your picture ID while you are borrowing supplies. Your ID will be returned to you when you return the supplies.
- No students should be using the Media Station. These are for instructor use only.
- Please remember to log off when you leave the Center. Please push your chair in when you leave your area.
