VA Benefit Programs

To receive GI Bill benefits at Pellissippi State, follow the steps in your selected benefit program checklist.

  1. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Montgomery GI Bill-Active Duty, Chapter 30 to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990.
  2. Please submit your Joint Services Transcript (or CCAF transcript if you served in the Air Force or Air Guard/Reserve).
  3. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official
  4. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please complete the VA Certification Request Form.
  1. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Chapter 33 to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990.
  2. Please submit your Joint Services Transcript (or CCAF transcript if you served in the Air Force or Air Guard/Reserve).
  3. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis.   4. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please complete the VA Certification Request Form.
  1. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Chapter 33 to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990e.
  2. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official
  3. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please complete the VA Certification Request Form.
  1. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance Program, Chapter 35 to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-5490.
  2. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-5495 (Change of Institution and/or Program) and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official
  3. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please complete the VA Certification Request Form.
  1. Submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility for the Montgomery GI Bill-Select Reserve, Chapter 1606 to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official. To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, please complete the VA form 22-1990.
  2. Please submit your Joint Services Transcript (or CCAF transcript if you served in the Air Force or Air Guard/Reserve).
  3. If you have used your GI Bill education benefits at another school, please complete a VA form 22-1995 (Change of Institution and/or Program) and submit it to the VA Regional Processing Office in St. Louis. A printed copy of the completed form must also be submitted to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official
  4. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please complete the VA Certification Request Form.
  1. Complete the Disclosure form in myPellissippi.
  2. Request an Approval Certificate (28-1905) from your VA Vocational Rehabilition counselor be sent to Pellissippi State's VA School Certifying Official.
  3. Once you have registered for classes, you must request to be certified each semester in order to receive your benefits. To submit a request, please complete the VA Certification Request Form.
  1. Obtain a parent letter approving your schedule for your home institution.
  2.  Contact our VA School Certifying Official for an appointment to be certified.
