Custom Training

Whether you need a one-time training or are looking at a long-term plan, we can work with you! Our certified instructors help employees meet professional continuing education requirements, including exam review, certification and re-licensure.

Using assessments and individualized consulting, we help you determine what skills training your team and business could benefit from. From there, we work with you to develop a strategy and create and deliver custom workforce solutions based on how you do business, tailored to your specific needs and scheduled to fit your timeline.

Pellissippi State can now partner with local employers to set up and sponsor apprenticeship programs for new and incumbent employees. The program allows for companies of all sizes to start an apprentice program for as little as one employee or over 100 for a variety of occupations. During the apprenticeship program, the apprentice receives work experience and job-related training necessary to develop the skill and proficiency of a skilled, well-rounded professional.

Apprenticeships can be customized and flexible to fit the employer’s needs. For example, the educational component of the apprenticeship can be done entirely in-person or online — or a hybrid of the two. In addition, we offer templates of customized on-the-job training guidelines, training for mentors, administrative support for applications and record-keeping to meet employer needs.

Train employees at your location or at one of our five campuses across East Tennessee. In addition to offering traditional classrooms and lab spaces, our advanced manufacturing training Megalab at Pellissippi State’s Strawberry Plains campus boasts 18,000 square feet of engineering and training space. This modern facility supports diverse types of training, mirroring equipment and processes common to manufacturing floors to provide tailored, hands-on skills and career training.
