Career Development

Career Development serves students and the community by connecting students and employers and helping students prepare to enter the workforce. However, we help with more than just getting a job when you graduate. Throughout your time at Pellissippi State, we will help you discover aptitudes that match your best-fit career pathway and then train you in the skills that you will need to succeed in the workforce. For instance, through our free workshop series you will have the opportunity to network with local businesses while they instruct you in topics such as resume writing, interview skills, and how to represent yourself in a professional environment. We host career fairs and teach job search strategies that connect you to on- and off-campus employment. As an alumnus, we can assist you in preparing to advance in your current job or help you seek a new opportunity.

Our services include:

  • Student Employment Program (SEP)
  • Job Placement upon Graduation
  • Job Board for Students and Alumni
  • Career Fairs
  • Employer Networking Opportunities
  • Career Closet
  • YouScience Aptitude Assessment and Career Discovery

Students can make appointments to discuss the following topics with staff through the Navigate platform:

  • Career Assessment and Advising
  • Resume and Cover Letter Assistance
  • Job Search & Placement
  • Student Employment Program
  • Other Concern

Employers can engage with Career Development through:

  • Career Fairs
  • Job Board Profiles and Postings
  • Student Workshops and Networking Opportunities
  • Mock Interviews

Job Board

Pellissippi State has a job board for students, alumni, and employers. The board (called Cynaptx) has part-time jobs, full-time jobs, and internships. Create a profile to search for workshops, job fairs, and other recruiting events.
Students can sign into Cynaptx by using your PSTCC username and password to sign in.
