Facilities operates the mail services for the College. These services include posting outgoing mail, processing incoming mail, delivery of inter-campus mail, and a courier service to all the campuses. The college mail service is for mail pertaining to college business only. Please do not use this service for posting or receiving personal mail. If you have additional questions about Mail Services, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Outgoing mail is delivered to the post office twice daily, at 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. All outgoing mail should have a “postage form” attached when it is delivered to the mailroom. Forms can be obtained in the mailroom. Forms should be attached to the mail with rubber bands or paper clips. Please do not staple the form to the mail. Outgoing mail may be delivered to the mailroom through the inter-campus mail, or dropped in the mail chute located in MC 120.

Incoming mail is generally delivered via your departmental mailbox. Departmental mail can be received at the mailboxes located in McWherter 120. Mail received at the college should pertain to college business. Please do not have personal mail sent to the college address. When using the college address, please specify your department and campus location, so that mail may be routed to you more quickly and efficiently.

Inter-campus mail is delivered on the courier run, which occurs on a daily basis Monday through Friday. Scheduled stops are the Blount County campus, the downtown Chamber of Commerce, Magnolia Avenue campus, Strawberry Plains campus and Division Street campus. Inter-campus mail should be clearly marked as to recipient's name, department, and campus destination.

Small items, other than campus mail, may be sent to these locations via the courier. Items to be delivered on the courier run should be in the mailroom by 8:30 a.m. For the other campuses, please check with the Dean's secretary for instructions regarding campus mail procedures. For delivery of large, bulky, or heavy items, please do a service request through Facilities.

Other services offered through the college mail service include “Business Reply” response, certified mail, bulk rate mail, and others. Please contact the mailroom at 6647 for detailed information on these other services.
