Take a stroll down memory lane on Monday, March 30, at Pellissippi State Community College’s Blount County Campus.
Holly Burkett, Blount County Campus dean, invites the community to join faculty, staff, and students in celebrating Pellissippi State’s 40th anniversary at the event, which will feature an ice cream sundae bar, tours of campus, scrapbooks and slides of the campus’s history, and a performance by the college’s bluegrass band, Hardin Valley Thunder.
The celebration is free. The Blount County Campus is located at 2731 W. Lamar Alexander Parkway.
The event begins at 3 p.m., and the Hardin Valley Thunder performance is 4-5 p.m. The student performers will sing classic and contemporary bluegrass tunes, including songs by Brad Paisley, Alison Krauss, The Civil Wars, and Bill Monroe.
Pellissippi State began celebrating “40 Years of Achieving Success, One Story at a Time” fall 2014. Throughout this year, the college will host special events for the community, as well as for students, faculty and staff.
Students, alumni and community members are encouraged to share positive stories and memories of Pellissippi State at www.pstcc.edu/anniversary. On social media, use #PSCC40.
